After 12 years at Newspace, I will be leaving my administrative role at the Center in October to pursue new adventures in my photographic career.
As many of you know, in 2012 I moved to part time after returning to school to receive my MFA in Photography. At that point we hired Tricia Hoffman as our Executive Director to lead the organization. Moving forward I am excited to become more involved teaching classes at Newspace and will maintain my involvement with the board of directors.
There have been too many highlights during my time at Newspace to recount them all, but it has truly been an amazing journey and a period of my life that I will never forget. The Center’s growth would have never been possible without the support of our vibrant photo community and all of the dedicated, hardworking staff, volunteers and board members throughout the years.
I am happy to hand off my facilities management responsibilities to the very capable Brittany Chavez, our new Facilities Manager. In addition, we are excited to launch our first Kickstarter Campaign to help Newspace to hire a curator. I hope you will support this effort to further grow the organization.
Thank you for your support of Newspace and for making my time here so memorable. I hope that those of you who value the unique creative and intellectual space that Newspace provides will continue your engagement and support.
