Offsite Panel Discussion: Can Images Counter Mass Incarceration?

Camera Arts Society, the PSU Speaker’s Board and Newspace Center for Photography present Can Images Counter Mass Incarceration?, a panel discussion about the roles images play in shaping political thought and forging social action. Educator Barry Sanders and artists Sarah-Jasmine Calvetti and Lorenzo Triburgo will discuss their practices and how their work fits into a larger national debate about the uses and abuses of mass incarceration. Pete Brook, curator of the exhibition Prison Obscura (Newspace Center for Photography, April 1 – May 28, 2016) will moderate.

The discussion takes place Saturday, April 2 at 2-4pm in the Nimiipuutimt Room in the Native American Student and Community Center (710 SW Jackson St, Portland, Oregon 97201). Please note, this event does NOT take place at Newspace.
