Are you interested in becoming an educator at Newspace? Do you have a class you would like to teach? Complete our NEW Class Proposal Form to share your interests and skills. Newspace prefers instructors with prior teaching experience and with an idea for a potential class. We are looking for educators for Adult and Youth classes, Technical and Conceptual, Digital and Film, and Workshops and Lectures. Please take a look at our current offerings to get an idea of the kind of classes we currently offer. We are always looking for new avenues of thought and instruction, or for a new twist on old techniques and concepts. We look forward to learning more about you and your class ideas!
Once we receive your completed proposal form the Education Director may ask you for a copy of your Curriculum Vitae, including a list of courses you have taught, and samples of your work or your student’s work.
The Newspace Teaching Assitant Program is intended to provide TA’s with mentorship and teaching experience. Through the guidance of the Educator – TA’s will have the opportunity to observe classroom management, learn effective teaching practices, and guide student learning. TA’s are invited to attend and participate in Educator’s Meetings where the Newspace Education Director will provide professional development and training to both Educators and TA’s. TA’s are unpaid positions, but TA’s are given equivalent time served in the classroom to utilize in Newspace’s Darkroom or Digital Lab.
If you would like to be considered for future TA positions, please complete Teaching Assistant Form AND email your resume or curriculum vitae to the Education Director, email@example.com.
