Basic Photoshop
Level 1
If you’re new to digital photography, or if you’re self-taught and want to fill the gaps in your knowledge, an expert guide is an invaluable resource. In this hands-on beginning Photoshop class, you’ll learn how to take advantage of Photoshop’s fabulous bag of tricks as you set the foundation for an easy, efficient digital workflow. You’ll learn to organize, size, and save your images, work with RAW files, use layers, make tonal corrections, retouch, and much more.
Learning Photoshop will literally revolutionize your photography. If you’re fed up with the limitations of entry-level programs like iPhoto or suspect you’re doing things the hard way and want to take the next step, this class is a ideal choice.
Both instructors are Adobe Certified Photoshop Experts.
Students may use the digital lab for five hours free of charge during their enrollment.
About the Facility:
This class will be held in Newspace’s state-of-the-art digital lab space. Each student will have their own 20-inch iMac station and access to all software and hardware necessary for the class. Studying in our lab makes learning easy – all the tools you’ll need will be right at your fingertips.
Mark Fitzgerald is a Photoshop and Lightroom consultant and author based in Portland, Oregon. He helps photographers understand the complex tools of modern photography so that they can focus on their creative processes. Mark is an Adobe Certified Photoshop CS5 Expert and has written several books including: “Adobe Photoshop CS5 Restoration and Retouching for Digital Photographers Only”, “Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop Workflow Bible,” and “Adobe Photoshop CS4 After the Shoot.”
Susan Bein began photographing with black and white film over 40 years ago, taking workshops with Ansel Adams, Aaron Siskind, Paul Caponigro and Minor White. She enthusiastically embraced the digital age for its ability to give instant feedback and allow for more collaboration with subjects, and more creative risk-taking. She has taught Photoshop since its early versions and loves introducing fellow photographers to its powerful creative potential.
