Description: Thinking about starting your own photography business? This module series is designed to help the photographer understand the photo industry as a service, and as one that generates products. You will be able to identify a business model and structure that will engage and generate jobs. You will learn how to brand and market your photography business and determine costs and pricing. You will walk away from these modules with a strong understanding of the photography industry, how it runs, and what is required to successfully pursue your passion and get paid for it!

Prerequisites: None.

Each module is two classes.

Module 1: Creating a Business Plan

  • Learn different business models
  • Turn your passion into a business
  • Create a plan for action

Module 2: Marketing and Sales

  • Make contacts
  • Look at your portfolio of work
  • Define content for your website

Module 3: Pricing and Contracts

  • What to charge
  • Negotiate a contract and job
  • Navigate copyright issues and protecting your art
