Composition Crash Course

Level 1-2

Good composition is rarely a matter of luck – it’s a skill that can be learned by training your eye. If you feel like you’re flying by the seat of your pants with your photography, this class will help you learn key design and composition tips that can really make a difference in your shots.

An overview of compositional do’s and don’ts will help refine your eye and fine-tune your perspective. You’ll learn to find a balance between subjects and backgrounds, and you’ll learn how focus, color, and perspective effect composition and depth perception. You’ll also learn some important techniques for leading the viewer’s eye towards your intended subject. Once you have these skills under your belt, you’ll be able to focus on the creative side of image-making with greater success and confidence.

Students should bring cameras.
