SUMMER
Film Photography and Darkroom

Sam Slater Student   analog youth 2

Description: Traditional film photography is more popular than ever with young people! In this class, students will learn how to manually control their film cameras to make correct exposures for any situation. They will learn to develop their own b&w film and use Newspace’s Darkroom to print contact sheets of their negatives onto photographic paper. Then students will investigate Newspace’s Darkroom more creatively – learning techniques like how to use an enlarger, filters, focusing, and tray chemistry. Students will print their own negatives and bring home a portfolio of b&w photographs!

Prerequisites: All levels welcome. Students should bring their own SLR film camera or call us to inquire about renting a film camera. All other supplies provided by Newspace.
