Fundamentals of Photography

Level 1

If you’re just starting out with photography, it helps to have a firm handle on the basics. This more in-depth class will give you the solid foundation you need to maximize your success as a shooter. You’ll learn how to operate your digital SLR camera in manual mode for better control over your images and will learn how light, color, and tonality work together to create strong shots.

You’ll also learn key compositional guidelines that will help you better design and structure your photos. Fun, hands-on opportunities, including a photo field trip, combined with technical and conceptual guidance from a talented pro will get you on your way towards an informed mastery of the medium.

Students must have SLRs with shutter speed andaperture controls to take this class.

Zeb Andrews has been seriously dedicated to photography since 2002 when a Pentax K1000 made its way into his hands and almost did not escape again. Not long after that he bought his first “real” camera, a Nikon FM2. His family of cameras has grown much since that first Nikon over the years, but that FM2 is still going strong.

Zeb loves to teach and share. He believes you make yourself better by making those around you better. When he am not working full time at Blue Moon Camera and Machine, he is generally spending his days off photographing and teaching photography classes and workshops.
