iPhone Photography
Level 1
The iPhone is one of the most exciting, innovative cameras on the market—and it’s a cell phone. Nevertheless, iPhones are flexible, fun, and extraordinarily capable tools when it comes to photography. Artists, commercial photographers, and even photo journalists are using the iPhone seriously, and getting wonderfully unique results.
In this class, iPhone photographer extraordinaire Susan Bein will give you an in-depth tour of some of the most exciting photo apps available today, including apps that can mimic a wide array of films and photographic processes. You’ll learn how to customize your settings for the best results, how to use the tool boxes in each app, and how to share and save your images most effectively. Susan will also discuss the iPhone’s video apps.
Students should bring iPhones and should have a good understanding of basic settings
Susan Bein began photographing with black and white film over 40 years ago, taking workshops with Ansel Adams, Aaron Siskind, Paul Caponigro and Minor White. She enthusiastically embraced the digital age for its ability to give instant feedback and allow for more collaboration with subjects, and more creative risk-taking. She has taught Photoshop since its early versions and loves introducing fellow photographers to its powerful creative potential.
