After School Darkroom Club
Level 1
Do you have a budding photographer in your family? Newspace’s after-school darkroom club is a great opportunity for youth aged 10–16 to experience the magic of black and white photography. Kids will learn how to shoot with a manual film camera and how to process and print their own images in the traditional black and white darkroom.
After two months in the darkroom, they’ll come away with a stack of their own prints, a new appreciation for the arts, and a wonderful new set of skills.
Students should bring their own SLR film cameras. Loaner cameras are available—please call to inquire. All other materials are provided.
Bryan Wolf is a freelance custom printer for several nationally-known commercial, editorial, wedding and fine art photographers. He brings 12 years of printing experience with him to this class. Bryan mostly photographs people, sometimes in their environment, sometimes not, sometimes candid, sometimes not, sometimes with permission, sometimes without, sometimes successfully, sometimes not, sometimes black & white, sometimes color, always with film. He mostly enjoys photographing his family.
