On Assignment: Snowshoe Photo Hike
Level 1-4
Strap on some snowshoes and grab your camera! This unique trip is a chance to photograph northwest winter landscapes at their finest. The quiet beauty of snow covered trails is best experienced on a set of snowshoes. On this trip, the group will explore the stunning winter wonderland around Mt. Hood. You’ll learn how to photograph snow most effectively as you experiment with winter landscape techniques.
Photographer Laura Valenti Jelen will help you to turn a creative eye on the landscape as you experiment with new perspectives. Jonathan Jelen of Oregon Wild will assist as a snowshoe guide and will talk to the group about the unique ecology of the area. The second class will be a group sharing and critique of work created during the trip.
Need snowshoes? Reserve your rental for an added $10 when you register by phone. Students must be physically fit and comfortable with snow hiking.
