On Assignment: The Blue Hour
Level 1-4
Join photographer Zeb Andrews for this photographic exploration of the city at twilight. Evening is a fantastic time to capture color in the sky as day fades to night and the city lights begin to twinkle. The trip will begin at the iconic St. John’s Bridge. You’ll learn key technical tips for photographing in the unique twilight hours, as you explore the bridge and the waterfront with your camera. You’ll learn how to take long exposures, capture the motion of headlights with your camera, and capture the color and delicacy of the light as it changes.
The second session will be an informal sharing and review of work created during the trip.
Students should bring cameras and tripods and may shoot with film or digitally.
Zeb Andrews has been seriously dedicated to photography since 2002 when a Pentax K1000 made its way into his hands and almost did not escape again. Not long after that he bought his first “real” camera, a Nikon FM2. His family of cameras has grown much since that first Nikon over the years, but that FM2 is still going strong.
Zeb loves to teach and share. He believes you make yourself better by making those around you better. When he is not working full time at Blue Moon Camera and Machine, he is generally spending his days off photographing and teaching photography classes and workshops.
