Description: Learn the reasoning behind the ‘why’ of a portrait and the ‘how’ to create it. Through demonstration and practice students will learn how to work with available light for portraiture, how to connect with sitters, and how locations and surroundings help reveal more about a person. They will also use Newspace’s lighting studio to explore how to use various light sources to draw with light and make portraits.
Prerequisites: All levels welcome. Students should bring their own DSLR camera or call Newspace to inquire about renting a digital camera. All other supplies provided.
