Class Skill Levels

 

Level One (L1)
Beginning students with little or no training in photography. Digital students are comfortable with fundamental computer skills such as word processing, email, and internet browsing.

Level Two (L2)
Students understand shutter speed and aperture controls and use single lens reflex (SLR) cameras in manual mode. Digital students have a basic understanding of Photoshop, Elements, and/or Lightroom. Lighting students can use strobes. Film students can use filters and burn and dodge.

Level Three (L3)
Students have been photographing seriously for a few years and have taken a few photography classes or workshops. Digital students have a concrete working knowledge of Photoshop.

Level Four (L4)
Professional photographers and advanced students with over five years of experience. Digital, lighting, and film students are confident using advanced techniques.

Registration & Cancellation Policies

 

*Payment in full is required upon registration to hold your spot in the class.

*If a class is cancelled by Newspace you will receive a full refund.

*You may cancel up to five days in advance to receive a full refund.

*There will be no refunds or transfers if you cancel with less than five days notice or fail to show up. Newspace cannot be responsible for giving refunds for classes, workshops, or other programming missed due to illness, emergencies, or events beyond our control.

*There is a $5 (per class) processing fee for all refunds.

*Please mark your calendars once you register as we will not be contacting you to remind you beyond your initial registration confirmation.

Summer Session Workshops
Register for Summer Session workshops (Linda Connor, Mary Ellen Mark & Arno Minkkinen) at least one month prior to workshop start dates. Withdrawls or refunds must have at least 30 days' notice. There are no exceptions. If a class is cancelled, Newspace will refund only the class fee, not travel or hotel expenses. Newspace is not responsible for and will not refund any non-tuition expenses for any reason.

Parking

 

For evening and weekend classes you may park anywhere in front of our building EXCEPT where there are "no parking" signs posted. There is ample street parking as well. On weekdays you may use our three spaces directly in front of Newspace or on the street.
