On this trip, you'll learn how to capture action-packed images of Portland Marathon runners with
sports photographer Chris Ryan. The group will shoot from prime vantage points along the course,
capturing the anticipation of the start, the exhilaration of the finish, and plenty of action along the
way. You'll learn how to train and fine-tune your reflexes, how to capture peak moments, and how
to use the camera to create dramatic motion blurs and stop-action effects.
The first class will be a
prep session and the third class will be a review/critique of work created on the trip. Students should
bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.
This trip will be led by Portland Photographer Chris Ryan. Chris is a commercial photographer who has shot for Nike, Reebok, Summit Entertainment, French Rolling Stone, Maxim, Men's Fitness, Bon Appetit, Playboy, and ESPN Magazine.
