On Assignment: Full Moon at the Painted Hills
(L1-4)
Weekend of October 22nd through 24th
Review of work - Thursday, November 4th 7-9pm
$325
The highlight of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, the Painted Hills are rolling slopes
richly striated in shades of gold, orange, black, and red. Formed by an ancient floodplain and filled
with fossil deposits, the landscape is a unique look into Oregon's geological history. On this trip, the
group will spend two full days exploring in the field and will get to experiment with image-making
in the light of a near full moon.
The trip will also include a sunrise exploration of the gorgeous bluegreen
canyons of Blue Basin at the nearby Sheep Rock Unit. The company of a top-notch landscape
photographer will make this a wonderfully informative and inspiring trip. Throughout the trip, Bob
will make a special point of working one-on-one with each photographer, to make sure everyone
gets beautiful images. This trip is perfect for photographers at all levels who are ready to immerse
themselves in a true photographic adventure - and learn a lot in the process.
The second session will
be a review/critique of work created on the trip. Participants will receive a detailed itinerary upon
registration. Participants should be comfortable with moderate hiking.
This trip will be led by Bob Farr.
