In this fun, hands-on class you'll spend the weekend
exploring the macabre side of Portland with
photographer Susan Bein. The class will begin Friday
night with a special-access, after-hours shoot at Oak's
Amusement Park. With Susan's inspiring guidance,
you'll learn all about her blur and light painting
techniques as you roam the park with your camera.
On Saturday, you'll head out to Sauvie Island to
photograph the historic Bybee Howell house - the
perfect location for ghostly haunted house images. The
trip wouldn't be complete without a dash of creative
flair - trip leader Susan Bein will have masks and
costumes on hand - perfect fodder for some truly
unusual images. Susan's unique perspective and sense
of fun will really make this a special class for those
looking to break the mold and get creative with their
photography.
On Sunday, class will review work in a
hands-on digital lab session. You'll learn how to add
textures and layer effects, like glows and blurs, to your
images to add drama and suspense. Susan will also
show you how to use adjustment layers and blending
modes to great effect.
Required prerequisite: Basic Photoshop or instructor's consent.
