Newspace Center for Photography, located in Portland, Oregon, invites you to enter our 8th Annual Juried Exhibition. Winning images will be shown at the Center during the month of July 2012. The competition is open to all photographic themes and processes, but the work should have been created in the last five years. 35 images will be selected for the exhibition and one photographer will be selected for a solo show at Newspace in 2013 and awarded $500. Regional, national, and international entries are accepted.

Summer Camps for Kids!

If you have a budding photographer in your family, the week-long summer photo camps at Newspace are a must. Camps are fun-filled, hands-on photo immersion courses for young people aged 10 – 17. Students may choose a digital photography or a darkroom and film photography focus – or both! Fun hands-on projects make Newspace’s Photo Camps an especially rewarding way to spend part of the summer. Sign up early – space is limited to just 12 campers per session.

Coffee & Critique

Bring your photos in for a round table critique and discussion.

Enjoy meeting other local photographers in an open, constructive conversation of your images and photography in general. If possible, please bring actual prints but a projector is available if you want to bring a laptop. The group will meet on the first Sunday of every month at 10:30am.

The new gallery & entrance is complete!

After many years in the works (dreaming!) and just over a year from start to finish in construction, we are excited to announce the completion of our new gallery and front entrance. This phase was the completion of our brand new front entrance, gallery space and 2nd digital lab just for scanning and printing. We will be celebrating on Saturday, August 13th with our grand opening event. More details to come so stay tuned.
